TRAFFIC or illegal trade
TRAFFIC seeks to prevent illegal sale of endangered wild animals and plants. It is a joint trade-monitoring program of World Wildlife Fund and The World Conservation Union (IUCN). TRAFFIC is an international network of staff on five continents in 20 countries and territories, and ongoing research in dozens of others. TRAFFIC recognizes the diversity of cultural perspectives related to consumptive use of wildlife. To learn more about TRAFFIC, please visit their Web site at http://www.traffic.org. TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network, works to ensure that trade in wild plants and animals is not a threat to the conservation of nature.
TRAFFIC works in co-operation with the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora (CITES).
TRAFFIC is a joint programme of WWF and IUCN-The World Conservation Union.
