Concern for Rhinos
Yes, rhino habitat and populations are a concern of WWF. The Rhino, a majestic species, is increasingly threatened, due primarily to poaching and habitat loss. Humans have driven these remnants of the world's prehistoric ages to the edge of extinction. As the rhino is one of its flagship species, WWF is directing innovative conservation efforts in Asia and Africa that have already produced results and promise a more secure future for the rhino.
World Wildlife Fund is the principal international conservation organization tackling the rhino crisis on every front, from stepping up protection and support for protected areas and rhino reserves, to stopping poaching and illegal trade in rhino horn (TRAFFIC), to working with traditional medicine communities, to stemming the demand for rhino-based products.
