Threat to Oceans
WWF has been acting to save our oceans for more than 30 years. We work in more than 100 countries to protect essential habitat, reduce pollution on land and sea, cease destructive fishing practices, and curtail illegal trade in marine wildlife.
WWF is protecting critical marine habitats in places as diverse as the coast of Tanzania, the Sulu and Sulawesi Seas off the Philippines, and the Florida Keys. Throughout the world, WWF is collaborating with local partners to set up dozens of marine protected areas and conserve precious habitats and the species they contain.
As the global leader in safeguarding these marine ecosystems, World Wildlife Fund aims to create stable marine networks that encompass 100 marine protected areas worldwide. WWF's Ocean Rescue is dedicated to protecting our planet's oceans, and the abundant, diverse life they support.
